In 1875, a brewery was established in Hanoi under the name of “Biere de la Cochinchine”. The brewery produced three kinds of beer including Biere Blonde, Biere Brune and Biere Ambrée (amber ale). The brewery was later renamed as “Brasserie de Saigon” (Saigon Brewery) after it was moved to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). It continued producing beers until the end of World War II when it was destroyed by Japanese troops during the Fall of Saigon in 1975.
After 1975, there were no breweries in Vietnam until 1991 when Blue Dragon Brewery’s first bottle rolled off the production line. The company produces several types of beer including Dark Beer and Light Beer which are sold nationwide in 1 liter bottles, 330ml cans and also on tap in some bars and restaurants across Vietnam.

Old Beer (bia tuoi)
